That is pretty amazing, quite a recovery. I'd like to see a picture of the fish on the same side that was so damaged.

This is my rescue so to speak, my LFS gave it to my for $30. He got it in a tank buyout and just wanted it in a healthy tank to heal. Here are some pics from a few months ago. I don't have any pics when I got it, but the HLLE had destroyed part of the head above the eyes, and also had a 1/8" strip that ran the length of each side.

All I did was feed well and keep the water clean.....and yes, carbon is used on the tank 24/7. Tangs need clean, well oxygenated water and a reef to graze on....tie that together with lot's and lot's of nori and small meaty meals each day and whallaaa.

Very nice Chris!! How long have you had him now? How long before the HLLE starting healing?
Yup...I ran carbon 24/7 as well. I also fed TONS of fresh & dried seaweed (in fact, that's all he would eat for a few weeks). I've tried to make sure he always has at least a fresh small sheet of algae every day.
