LED setup in a 180 gallon
I have a vision 6'x2'x2' that I just acquired. It has a canopy that is 12" off the water line.
Before this I had a 120 gallon, 4'x2'x2'. I had two Rapid LED Onyx units with 60 degree optics hanging 12" off the water. This worked well and the coverage is good. With the 180, I was thinking I could use the two Onyx 60 degrees and then add either a 80 or 100 degree onyx that I had on my frag tank. There are some issues: - Onyx units have to hang off the canopy so the fan can cool the unit (fan on top) -There are two 8" wide glass braces on the tank, 18" from the ends. Not sure if this dissipates the light, but it looks like it does. -I have the 80 degree onyx in the middle and they are all tied together for intensity and dimming to my apex. It looks like the 80 is not as bright as the 60s, but would a 100 degree reach the bottom of a 2' tank with blues and mixed channels at 100% and whites at 40%? I could swap out the optics for all 80 or 100, but would I still get good coverage with the three lights hanging 6.5" off the water?
