Hello. I remember there were a couple of people on this forum that had connections or knowledge of MMA training, but I can't remember who they were.

I would like to find out if there are trainers/facilities in the Northern burbs that allow non-fighters? Or, if someone has info on a trainer that has the background I would appreciate a pm.

I don't want to fight. I'm only interested in learning new skills/techniques, coordination, and endurance and cardio.
The two styles I like are muay thai and brazil ju jitsu.

Thanks to anyone that can provide info.

Top 10 Heavyweight fighter Ben Rothwell lives in Kenosha. I know a guy who knows him but I have no clue where he trains.

Illuminati: Thanks brother! I will check out the one in Kenosha. Proximity is very importanto.

Also, I would consider a USMC background as well. I don't mind a little boot camp mixed in a routine. I'm most interested in pylometrics, starting at about 20 minutes straight building to an hour straight. But I would leave any tweaking to the professionals!

I have heard good things about www.newbreedchicago.com in Skokie. They have both BJJ and Muay Thai. Like most schools, they compete in BJJ tournaments all the time, and are very good, but MMA is not something they will be pushing. 95% of the students at my school have no competitive interest in MMA. I go and recommend this place www.riojj.com. GL with your training. BJJ is a great workout and the friendly competition keeps you motivated.

There is a facility in Elk Grove Village, the instructor is a catch wrestler, his workout and training techniques will certainly be a challange and are second to none. He has students come from Europe for training and he has trained some MMA fighters. If you are interested I can PM you more info.

I train at Torres in NWI, He is in everyones top 10 p4p list he is the WEC 135 Champ, so i am biased...But there are some good places.

MTC - Midwest Training Center - Clay & Jason Guida train there, as well as Shonie Carter, great place

Combat Do & Hackney's are both good. I just saw some of their guys fighting at Ironheart Crown @ UIC Pavilion.

On a side note, Ben Rothwell is a buddy, and as with most of Monte Cox's fighters, they train with MFS in Bettendorf, IA, which is where Chicago's own Rory Marckum trains as well. Matt Hughes was a MFS guy, but he formed the HIT Squad over in Granite City, IL

Thanks everyone!
Dang, location is becoming a problem. It seems all these great options are far from me with the exception of Kenosha.
