No. You would use that device if you were in a hotel room that had internet access via an ethernet cable to create a little mini wi-fi network. That way you wouldn't have to plug in with a wire and you could connect more than one device.

If you have a wireless router then just get a Netgear WNCE-2001 wireless adapter. Very easy to configure.

Thanks for the info.
I need it in the morning for a friend is coming to help me set it all up. They have only 1 in stock locally to me. Is there another model that is as good or will work? I appreciate the info.

Go over to the 'new' Neptune forum and search for this adapter. Plenty of threads on how to setup. And if you have a router that supports WPS, then it's just a press of a button.

when the browse utility sees it, are you clicking on 'open in browser'?

go into the display. navigate to your network settings. make sure DHCP is enabled. reboot the controller. then go back into the display, network settings. navigate to the IP address. That's your new IP address. Exit all the way out.

In your browser URL address bar enter http:// and that IP address.

Thanks so much aquamanic for all of your help and your awesome tutorials on net setup.
Anyone who is trying to hook one up....BE SURE to read the stickies carefully. They are well written and easy to follow.
Thanks again!!!

It is all working perfect with wireless and smartphone access.
