QT for 8 Fish - how big?

Going to start a QT system for the fish.

Would a 30 or 40 gal be enough water to QT about 8-10 fish?

How big are the fish? I've put 4 small fish in a 20 before without issue, so I suspect the 40 would be just fine, but if you had eight medium sized aggressive fish probably not.

haven't decided if i just want to go hypo, tank transfer or just meds.

I like the tank transfer idea but its a lot of work every three days to change out 30 gals.

Saltwater rule of thumb is 1" of fish per 4 gallons of water.
