Sand and salt question

I've been out of the game for a while and starting up again, a lot has changed just trying to set the new tank up right

What's everyone using for sand? I know back in the day southdown was a great option, is there anything like that kicking around now?

What's the best salt to use

Goes without saying there is no best. My personal favorites are Caribsea special grade for sand, and Instant ocean for salt

Yup Carib-sea.
Salt mostly all the same except cost.
Ya get what you pay for. (Mostly)

Some have elevated elements (Red Sea Pro) some are pharma grade (Tropic) some claim cleaner mixing......etc......what's better?.... Who knows.

Pick the one you like, closest to the parameters you need for your set up.

Using Live Aquaria salt, switched from reef crystals due to got sick of the residue left behind. Works great.
