How long do silversides last in freezer?

I bought a huge bag to feed just one anemone. It's been almost 8 months since i bought it. What's the shelf life of this in the freezer? Does it matter that I didn't seal the bag in the freezer? Thanks!

if they r frost bitten i would chuck them.I wrap mine in newspaper, then a brown bag,& finally a ziplock plastic bag because mine last a yr or so too. This way they dont go bad.

They will last a long time in the freezer but they will not be as tasty if they get freezer burnt.

Mine came in a plastic tub. They've been frosty forever, lotsa air in their being a rigid plastic tub and all. My tub must be 8 months old as well. Doesn't seem to bother my nem one bit.

Just curious, under what grounds are people saying to toss it? I know the nutritional value of a product is reduced by freezer burn, but how much? Is there any scientific basis to these statements or is it all opinions?

My cuttlefish eats freezer burnt silversides. I've since switched to shrimp since that's the main part of their diet in the wild and it only cost $8 for a bag of shrimp at the grocery store.

I haven't thrown out the silversides which have to be more then 6 months old as my anemone and rhyzo still eat them.

They might not taste as good but let them defrost with some PE or cyclopeeze and the flavor train returns.

For me my Fish are like my kids.I dont think it would hurt the fish to feed them frost bitten food, but i want to feed them only the best fresh food i can provide.

pffft they never go bad, like live stock is going to spit them out because they don't "taste good anymore".
