300W Mars hydro - sufficient for chaeto?
Hello,
I wanted to get everyone's advice regarding if this new fuge light I bought is sufficient and proper spectrum to grow chaeto? https://www.amazon.com/MarsHydro-Spe.../dp/B00XC3LBI2 I'm guessing it is powerful enough, but I've had it up for several weeks and chaeto doesn't seem to be growing much if at all. Also what is the recommended distance? I have it about 18" above the water surface, and chaeto is about 8" below the surface. Chaeto seems to be a fairly lighter color than before but not 100% sure. Thanks |

That light should be fine. Fading chaeto might indicate a lack of nutrients to match. Increasing light for plants, in essence driving them harder, often requires more fuel (nutrients) to keep up with the new pace of growth.
