Would an Apex Jr. fit my needs?
Apex Jr. seems to be a hit and miss.
I have a breeding rack with central filtration. I'd like to monitor pH [and conductivity in the future]. I believe each one requires a PM module. Then I'd like a BoB for waterchanges, refilling reservoir, ATO, etc. I don't need dimming or Vortech control. I want an EB8 or maybe 2. Maybe an LSM in the future. Would this suffice? |

NVM, looks like a full blown Apex is my best bet.

With what you're describing, I'd definitely recommend the full-blown version.
The Jr. is a solid piece of equipment... it's just that it has limited ability for expansion: 5 modules and the display counts as 1. Some folks don't realize that limitation when they buy them, and are quickly disappointed. Others know the limitation, but don't realize how much they'll end up utilizing the power of the Apex and wanting to add more. |

True. Not sure what Apex Jr. is aimed at; maybe nano/small aquariums?
I see why they got rid of the Lite too... |

The Lite came out before the Jr, so for a while it was the "low-cost" version. But when the Jr was released, it seemed like it was just a matter of time before the Lite was axed. Makes sense, in my opinion. You only need one entry-level model of anything.

The Jr. just seems like a severely gimped version of the standard model. Last edited by Raul-7; 12/07/2014 at 07:14 PM. |
