Overdosed MG
Had a little miscommunication with the wife and the result was 3/4 of a gallon of MG supplement going in instead if 1/4. MG last night was 1900.
What should I do? I was thinking just a few water changes and let I jt come down slow. Also the CA has risen to about 500 and the alk dropped to about 7.6. I turned down the dosing of the CA and increased the alk dose. When all this started we had about 320 for CA and 1100 for MG. Alk was about 8.5. |

Yep.. do some water changes to get it down to less than 1500 or so and let it go down from there..
Elevated mag usually isn't too much of an issue but thats pretty elevated..

I suspect everything will be fine, but some water changes will help lower the level. I would watch the animals for any signs of trouble. If the animals are doing well enough, I might up the water change schedule a bit, but I wouldn't do anything drastic.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Everything seems fine and my sps are turning back to their normal color.
Glad it was a bottle of MG and not a bottle of alk or I might be crying right now |

From what I've heard, elevated mag will affect snails the most. I've had my mag to 1800 for a month before and lost 1 turbo snail. No issues with any of my coral or other inhabitants that I could detect. I'm not recommending you purposely keep it that high, but IME you're situation isn't anything to stress about.
