OK those are some nice pictures... On a 475gallon tank that is quite a bit of stock. How are they hanging out so far? I guess none have been put in the loo huh?

Today Help !
So rocks going a bit brown, and I had a little red slime lasted about 3 days, did water change and then went. first few spots of coraline growth on rock spotted 3 days ago. Now the problem. You guessed it…. JAW FISH. One has stopped eating. It is the biggest of the 2 , over the last month he's been eating everything. flake, brine , mysis , lobster eggs. now it's not eaten for 2 days from what i can see. I was spot feeding it aswell as letting it fend for itself for the main feedings, No idea what to try next. Their is one thing I am not sure about, because I have been spot feeding them , as soon as I put food in all the fish tend to swim towards where the jawfish are. they don't disappear into their den or anything just sits their looking at everything it even makes an effort to spit out the mysis shrimp should he accidentally take some in. I cannot see any other signs of ill health. Has anyone got any idea what I can try. Although well read this is still the first time I have actually kept these fish so still learning.

if you think thats a bit of stock. Everything except the powder blue, the clown fish and the jaw fish were in the red sea!!! Now that was tight. not as bad as it looks though. most of the fish are quite small (even though Ive had a lot of them for over a year) they couldn't grow ….. their wasn't the space . lol

I do for some new fish. It makes it more appetizing for them to start eating the same type food the rest of the tank eats.

and the hunger strike goes on !
as the title suggests still not eating. The one blue spot is fine hovering above it's den and eating everything in range. the other (the larger of the 2) nothing. I tried some of that selcon Worm suggested and all the other fish went crazy just not the blue spot. I am currently dumping so many different types of food in to try and incise it to eat I think I'll end up polluting the tank if I am not careful.
So anyway I got to thinking maybe he's not happy in its surroundings. Although all my fish are small it is a busy tank. So I have taken the bold step of remodelling the end of the tank a little. I also took the opportunity to have a look at the fish to check for signs of BSJF disease (which I have read about on here) but nothing, the only thing I can say is that it is breathing about twice as fast as the other blue spot, so I have added a blue spot house, increased the sand depth further and cleared the rock bcd to give him an un obstructed view. If anyone has got any suggestions on what else I can try I would more than appreciate it. |

^ haha, too funny
Wish you the best! I have always wanted a blue spot jawfish. Hopefully the big jaw fish is taking notes watching the dog. |

About 5-7 days. It must be doing something.
What type radio light programming/sequence are you running?

Hi worm. Really strange you should ask that , I'm not very good with this yet and been searching to try and get some ideas of good schedules to run. I'm using the basic colour programme at 60% 10.5 hr cycle. And even funnier than that , one of them has blown up about 10 minutes ago, no light, strong smell of burning and the fan is on constantly, just trying to find out if it's knackered or needs resetting some how ?

Strange.
Did you power cycle it? Does it get any salt creep or splashing on it? Did a fish jump and land on top of it? What does it say on the apex in regards to seeing it?

Tried the first one, don't think its the second 2 cause I've got a net with a fine mesh so this stops any splashing or jumping. On the last one I've got it on ecosmart live not controlled in the apex ( I had this from my pumps from previouse tank) but the burning smell is a concern , just knocked the power off for now. it's a strange one alright, what's your light cycle like ?
