wow thats a big tank and a huge problem for you..If I was you I would not count on the truck driver much, semi drivers never want anything to do with thier cargo..

look into a rental shop and see if you can rent some type of fork lift..

good luck

We loaded it onto a 4x8 trailer and took it home. It my house, I had prebuild a cart, and it just so happened to work out that the height of the cart was only an inch lower than the bottom of the tank when it was uncrated. I used those cheapo suction cup holders from Harbor freight, and with 8 guys, we slid it off the trailer onto my cart. I calculated the tank to weigh ~740lbs. That seemed high to me, but with your tank dimensions and excluding any eurobracing, I get ~215lbs for your tank using the same formula...so it must be right.

My crate had a zillion screws in it, so bring a couple of drills and extra bits. Bring a couple of square bits too. At least with my crate, they secured the bottom plywood to 4x4's with 4" long screws that required the square bits.
Good luck!
--wah ~740lbs, 8 guys!! that is some ji-norm-us tank. thanks for the details, i plan on building some sort of rolling tank stand this weekend, it will be two piece, one like a low profile furniture mover, and one where it is like an "I" stand where when i put the two togther i get my hieght and able to drag around the house with.

Update: Got an email from Derek, said the tank was complete on friday, and will install the overflow on saturday, looks like were on schedule! Also mentioned he'll send me some pictures before it goes into the crate monday, cant wait! this is about the only time that i want the weekend to be over allready!

So I got three of these from harbor freight, I know I was advise to use extreme caution when using these, they were 5$ so I had to give them a try.

Maxium Weight Capacity = 200lbs!!! Gonna give it a test...

I advise NO ONE DO THIS! I believe this were designed to be used perpendicular to the working surface and not paralle to it, so again, DO NOT DO THIS. Anyways it was funny, at least it seems to be working at 150lbs... had to modify them slightly to be able to hang from.

Also built this rolling thing to manuver the tank around the house.

And a picture of the tank, well the mock tank. We also mocked up a 4x4x2 cube and found it to be way too big for the room.

I'm in clay/liverpool and depending on the time I can help out. I have a full size pickup to help stage the move. PM me if you like.

(yes, I'm new here. short of some water changes the tank is ready for corals!)

Keep us posted. share the pics that the Miracle guys are sending you.

Getting the tank in the house somehow seems to be one of the most challenging tasks, yet, it's nothing compared to the road ahead. :-)

Good luck, and the guys (and gals) here in URS have some great advice, they helped me out immensely.

I can't get those to stick to glass tanks sometimes, and you're playing spiderman, hanging off a door with them, I'm impressed!!!

Pascal, Iamwrasseman I very much appriecate the jesture. If you dont mind I will send you both a PM once I know the time of delivery, you guys are by no means held to this, if you dont hear from me tomorrow please enjoy your holiday! As of now I have my brothers traveling from rochester to help me out.

I received a picture from Derek, the picture was taken with the tank in the crate, I can not post the picture becuase my wife has not seen it and wont until late xmas eve, sorry guys/gals, but i did upgradge the mock tank, enjoy

I am a bit disappointed that I had overdesigned the overflow, as it is too large for my liking... i have 3 holes, 1 for return and 2 for drain, i should have limit the drain to 1 and lessen the profile...

As for those people at Miracles, they ROCK! So far they are absolutly on schedule for my rush order! Responded to everyone of my emails!

Hi Lang,

having second drain is a wise choice. It's called flood insurance.

The mock-up looks nice!

Can't wait to see the final product.

Offloading the crate was not as difficult as I thought, actually it was pretty easy! The driver helped us, it was very nice of him.

Those guys at Miracles are awesome, my drawings was a 3x3x2 and the tank measured exactly 3x3x2! The overdesigned(by me) overflow was made to the exact dimension!

Derek, if you reading, I would like to thank you for your support and 2nd to none service!

Thanks, Blurry and Iamwrasseman for committing to help the move.

Opening box...

My wife is loving the tank
