280g New Build

Been reefing for a long time, moved into a new house so it's time to build a new tank.

Specs
72*30*30 using 3/4" low iron glass
42" tall metal stand
3 ATI stratons
48" Royal exclusiv dreambox w/ eco fleece
2 Red dragon returns
Royal exclusiv skimmer (starting with a mini160) - it was what RE recommended with fleece filter
2 titanium heaters
57w UV
Reef octopus cr220 8" carx
Kamoer peristaltic pump
2 mp40s
Apex everything w/trident
DOS AWC setup
Larging mixing station

It will be largely sps with a NSA rockscape.

Tank finally just showed up (Merry Christmas indeed) so plumbing next week. Dreambox took a while to custom build to my spec and ship from Germany but everything is finally here!

Custom fabricated a light bar for the stratons because their only option is hanging them and my ceilings are 18' so that really wasn't a practical option. Light bar is 1/4" marine grade stainless steel and is mounted with a hinge on the wall and 4 ecotech cables so I can raise it against the wall when I need to maintain the tank. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Here are a few pics to get us started, they are unedited phone pics so my apologies for the quality.

This looks like it will be a sweet, high end build! Congrats on your success. Enjoy all the little details of your journey!

What's a NSA rockscape?

Very cool design for the light bar. How high above the water level is it?

7" .... I didn't want much light spill and I have blanketed the top of the tank with the stratons so hence the low hanging height. Some pictures of the plumbing today.IMG_20211227_163737.jpgIMG_20211227_163739.jpgIMG_20211227_163743.jpg

I think 7” is perfect. I had a Straton for a few months, it does throw a nice blanket of light but has to be at 10” or less to produce enough par.

Put some support on the drains from the overflow box so they don't "pull " on it.

Your plumbing alone is a work of art; very cool build and looking forward to watching the progress.

Totally loving it, no manifold? Or possible a reactor or anything else that could be attached later?

Tank is in the house, majority of the rockscape is in, electrical tomorrow, water the following day. Took a picture of the lights hinged up since there were some questions about that
