Quietest in-sump return pump?
What is the quietest return pump I should get for a 60g sps tank?

my Eheim is pretty darn quiet. Probably a 1260 would be good for your size tank

depends.
quitEST is Red dragon, about 4 times the price of other pumps. but dead silent, I have to touch mine to figure if its on ! but in all honesty, it was not worth it for me !! I use two MP40s, which make noise, so an Eheim pumps noise can not even be heard over the MP40s .. I see you got MP10s as well,if so, dont waste money on RD, go with Eheim, a BIT more noisy, but not to the point where you can hear it over the MP10s good luck. I used a quite one on my 65G, its a good pump, no Issues, but it makes a humming noise. |

I'd go with either a 1250 wide open or a 1260 dialed back a bit. I ran a 1250 for a long time on my 90 and currently use a 1260 on a 300 DD. The 1250 would be more than enough and would be the quieter option.

My eheim 1262 was very quiet as is the 1250 on my calcium reactor. I just put in a mag18 which is also quiet. I just chucked a waterbalster hy5000. It sounded like a vibrating sander running ( both the original and the replacement), so I would stay away from them.

Eheim 3000 Compact+ Aquarium Pump 396-793GPH
Only $115 or less. Excellent pump. My 1260 lasted for over 15 years. I sold it for peanuts because I had a Mag 7- big mistake. My mag 7 made too much noise and I replaced it with the 3000. The 3000 is better - quite, powerful and reliable - what more can you ask for?

I would go with a 1250 or 1260, that 3000 hasn't proven itself to be as reliable as the older models IMO.

I use RD 3500 mini as the return pump in my 50G, it is even more quiet than the newjet 3000 for my chiller.

I have a quiet one 3000, can't hear it over my skimmer pump, bubble magus nac 5.
and i have it sof plumbed to reduce vibration from the pump. what i have found with a lot of internal pumps is that if they come with barb fittings, then you best use vinyl on the outlet, run it for a coulple feet, then you can connect to pvc from there, this will reduce the vibration transfered from the pump through the pvc. if you hard plumb all the way, you won't be happy, unless you have a fish room. I tried sicce, and queit one 3000 hard plumbed, quickly changed it.

A second vote for a tunze silence. I really cannot hear it at all, even on start up. Plus the tunze reliablility and service cannot be beat!
