+1 Great service, healthy livestock, and great prices. They're also very helpful. Love them.

Looks like this one could be the answer to the elusive orange colors:

Canada: Anyone know any good sources in Canada? I saw this question asked in this thread earlier, but I didn't see any replies.

THANKS!

Can someone update this post? Where can I buy marine plants and algae now in 2014. Most of these websites are gone. Thanks.

http://www.tbsaltwater.com/

You can order live rock from this company and if you express an interest in macro algae and plants, they should be able to help you by picking out live rock with more than its share of plants.

This company lists a lot of marine plants, but rarely have them in stock.

You can get red mangroves on Aquabid.com and probably ebay. But not right now. I just checked. Of course mangroves can grow in salt, brackish, or even fresh water. They grow above a tank or refugium, not in it.

This is a good place to buy from, they have MANGROVE POD (Rhizophora Mangle) in stock but not red mangrove at this time. Email them to ask when they expect to have what you are looking for. http://www.live-plants.com

http://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=RHMA2 Rhyzophora mangle (notice the M is not capitalized) is the scientific name for red mangrove. The pod refers to the fact they are not sending you a tree but a seed-like pod that may grow into a mangrove tree.

Floridapets currently has Thalassia, Halodule, and Syringodium for sale. Anyone that wants the Thalassia needs to act quickly, as it will be out of season once these are gone.

Does anyone have any current suggestions on where to order online? About half of the sites I'm seeing look out of date.

More marine plants are even more beautiful than freshwater ones. They make me think about a new saltwater tank that I hadn't never thought about before.

In the 1970's marine plants were very popular, but lost out in the decade to follow to those marine enthusiasts who regarded them as pests. For almost 40 years we've maintained both live plants and corals together in aquariums. It can be done, but it seems like the popular stance is to go full out one or the other.

I'd say the list on the front page needs to be updated since there are a bunch that are no longer available.

If you live near sandy hook Beach Park, New Jersey, red glacilaria and green ulva are floating on the protected bay. Free.

I'd be interested in an updated list. I've found a couple sources in my searching over the last couple of days and would love to see what others have found.

Actually, thinking about it, maybe we should start a new thread. Thoughts?
