Update

Wish I had some pics to provide, but I still don't have a replacement standard lens for my DSLR. Hopefully soon. I know everyone is sick of seeing nothing but macro shots, self included!!!

Anyways, just wanted to mention my experience with the Maxpect Gyre Pump. I'll keep it short and simple. Absolutely amazing. In fact so much so that it has become somewhat problematic. In the two weeks that I have had it I have been constantly battling low alkalinity. I have nearly TRIPPLED the dosing amount of two part. Growth has noticeably increased in most Acro's, especially those I would consider in the lower portion of the tank. Some of my montiporas have suffered due to the dips in alk (as low as 6.5 dKh at times.)

I say with confidence that if the Maxspect Gyre proves to be a durable, long lasting piece of equipment, it will prove to be one of, if not the single greatest value currently in the hobby. It is absolutely destroying the two MP40's + Tunze Wavebox that I was using prior.

Happy Thanksgiving!

You know.. I never get sick of macro acro.. Love'em. However, you could always just stand back further with the macro...... Ok fine I'll wait..
How is the noise with the gyres? I have two and can't wait to instal them on my tank... Soon.

Mine is almost dead silent until 60%, which you can hear a low hum that gets somewhat louder each notch up. At 100% it is still quieter than 2 MP40's running at or near 100%

I agree 100% but at 100% it moves a ridiculous amount of water. You'd need an 8ft tank.

Reef Raft acro's update:

Video mostly shows Wolverine but Frutopia and Avatar can be seen towards the end. Not a whole lot of growth on any but definitely starting to encrust and have colored up very very nicely. Avatar is my favorite for now, Frutopia might eventually become my favorite... as of now its a brilliant lime green with red polyps, and has developed orange tips!

I posted screenshots of my radion program on the first page of this thread. I've changed it up a little since then but it's nearly the same.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel like photo skills have been sub par though. For the past couple days I've been researching photography with DSLR's, in particular aperture, ISO, and Shutter Speed. For the first time I've attempted to balance these as I shoot and I feel like there has been a lot of improvement. I'll post some of the results.
