Where do you source most of your livestock? I live in Sudbury, but visit the bay quite regularly. I was not aware of a decent salt LFS in the bay area. If there is one, please let me know, we only have 1 in sudbury, and some diversity would be nice.

Have you ever made it over to our LFS here? It is decent, especially if you can make it in just after the weekly shipment arrives.

Edit: BTW amazing tank. Its nice reading up on a large tank that is so close to me.

Nothing in the North Bay area anymore, I now go to Peter's Reef Pond too. Jordan is a great guy, very helpful and knowledgeable. I also like Big Al's in Vaughan. I don't get to go very often but when I do I see lots of nice things.

I read and looked at hundreds of tank threads and simply LOVED OM's. I looked at OM's Forum like this one http://www.oceansmotions.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=973 and also talked to Paul the owner of Oceans Motions, he is the reason for the coast to coast overflow box on my tank.
After talking to him it was a must have for me, same as the drilled holes in the bottom of the tank. Paul suggested the size of the holes and the placement.
I think that the look of the OM can't be beat. The flow in my tank is strong but smooth not forceful like with power heads which take away from the look of the tank in my opinion.

Awesome tank and build

i change my filter socks every other day so the stuff they trap doesn't have enough time to breakdown into water pollution.

I am currently treating my tank for Ich, even though all my fish seem to have overcome it including my hippo tang, there were still small signs of it occasionally.

I have a 150 gallon so i set up a 55 gallon QT, Im using a marineland 400 hang on back filter and a aquaclear 110. I took the foam block from the aqua clear and let it run in the sump of the DT for about 2 weeks, The marineland filter has nothing in it right now, just moving water.

I put all the fish in it on the 2nd of this month, once they get used to it and feel comfortable, after a week or so i will start treating them with cupramine. I figure i have to let the DT sit for 8 weeks empty so i got plenty of time for the treatment.
Once the cupramine treatment is complete i will load the marineland filter with carbon to remove the copper from the water gradually. I plan on raising the level of cupramine very slowly also so the fish don't get shocked by it.
Then a few water changes and hopefully my 8 weeks will be up with no casualties. I will never just put a fish, rock, coral, or anything in my tank again without a lengthy QT period. I am very new at all this, my 150 i setup for a learning tank before i get a big tank.

I can already remotely check in via RKE to check parameters, this cam might be a good addition. How far away from the tank do you have it mounted?

Jordan IS a great guy, he's made service calls to my house before when i was out of town and it was only my G/F taking care of my tank. His dedication has saved me hundreds of dollars in livestock before. (it was around 10 at night that he came out too..)

Guess i'll have to make the trip to big Al's tho, i always hear great things about them.

after doing some research it looks like ill be going with the hyposalinity treatment. I have a green mandarin and 2 engineer gobys, the cupramine will kill them for sure.
