Question

Hello everyone!

Has anyone out there ever use a reef additive called Coral Vital. It's a product from Mark Weiss. If anyone has experience with this product in their reef-fish tank, let me know what was the outcome and or your opinion to the product. I just ordered it today at Marine Depot and should get in by tomorrow.

I use Kent's Coral Vite which is probably close to the same product. I have been using it for about 4 months now. I do not see any negative effects from using it. I do notice that my corals seem to be more full and robust than before I started using it. eric

Arrow Coral Vital

Well, the main reason Im using this product besides to enhance the coral is because I want to prevent ick. It's said this product will cause ick to dormant. So that's why I am trying it out.

I don't believe in any of those remedies. If your fish are stressed and conditions are not good, there's no vitamin that is going to prevent ich. eric

Hi tradnic

To Reef Central

A lot of people feel coral vital and most other Mark Weiss products do not do what they claim to do and are a waste of money. When I tried it, the only result I saw was more algae.

Here is a recent post from a few weeks ago.

Save your money Tradnic. I've used it and saw no improvement in my tank. The price they charge for their products, I should be growing money in my tank

I used it for a while and and my corals looked great. However I did have alot of hair algea and A guy at the LFS said he had a sample tested and they said it was basically sugar water, which would produce the results I saw. Take this with a grain of salt, I was not involed in the testing.
Since I quit using it I dont have the hair algea prob.

Happy Holidays,
Greg

Must be a great product

Premium Aquatics has Coral Vital on clearance for .95 cents, yep, from a regular price of $9.95 (400 Gallon treatment).

Any takers???

oops ... just checked again ... It is Cycle Vital ... my mistake

I tried Bacter Vital during my tank's cycle and it didn't do anything at all. Waste of 5 bucks. That Marc Weiss guy is dumb...but must make a lot of money selling useless crap!

I use Kent products:
Tech CB Part A and B (2 part calcium/buffer)
Coral Vite
Essential Elements
Liquid Calcium
Strontium and Molybdenum
Tech I Iodine

They work pretty good. I have some coralline growing on tufa rocks and the coralline on the LR is spreading somewhat.

Just left the wonderfull world of fresh water Discus and I'am not alone in saying that the Majority of M.W products (fresh water)are pretty much sh#@. I would not give him a chance in the S.W world.

just my 2 cents
