Talking my new above tank fuge and drilling story

so I decided to build a fuge to go above my tanks level, mostly to eliminate noise as the tank is about a foot from my head. I had a spare 10 gallon tank so I went off to my lfs and borrowed what I thought to be a glass hole saw. much to my surprise I got this

so I drilled my tank. so I thought successfully untill it cracked putting in the bulkhead, so back to the store I went and bought another 10, got to drilling, and snap! another one down. so once again back to pick up another all-glass tank after the perfecto one seemed weird to drill. and presto 3rd tmie was a charm, so heres what i got

I plan on keeping thie 10 gal fuge bare bottom with a lot of chaeto. what else should I put in it? I was thinking some peoppermint shrimp maybe a small fish, I can add sand if I need to but I have 3-4 inches in the display. My main goal is to keep a mandarin happy too.
