No. The pumps are completely different. Aside from the output not lineing up with your skimmer, the pump will be way to much flow for the Alpha and it won't work right. You need to get a new 1500 block for it to work properly. You can order that pump direct from the factory:

This is the block you need with the correct base.

In my country to import this pump will pay a very high tax
I know I can get a red dragon in 2000 for a bargain of a takedown
you think will not work right?

It absolutely will not work right. Like I said, they are two completely different sized pumps. Not only different power but different sized too. The RD1500 has a small block motor where as the RD2000 is a big block pump motor. It will not line up with the Alpha. The block is different sized, the volute is different sized and the output diameter of the pump is different as well so the tubing from the Alpha won't fit the 2000 block. It also has way too much power and will make the Alpha unstable and unusable even if you could figure out a way to connect the pump to the skimmer. Kind of like putting a V8 into a Smart Car.. It isn't going to work right. What country do you live in?

I sent you a PM with some options. Please check your Inbox.

That said, have you taken the pump apart and cleaned the motor and impeller in vinegar? There is a bearing at the base of the impeller below the magnet. It's held into the block using an o-ring. When these pumps aren't cleaned enough, the bearing will stick to the shaft and that can cause the pump to stop working and can also kill the motor. If you pull the impeller out and the bearing is stuck to the impeller, that is a problem. The impeller shaft should spin freely in the bearing. I would suggesting taking the pump apart and making sure the bearing isn't stuck to the shaft. If it is, you need to carefully pry it off and clean the bearing and the little hole in it well. Also use some Scotch Brite or something to clean the end of the impeller shaft so that the bearing slides of the end of the shaft and spins smoothly. Once it's cleaned, it needs to be installed back into the motor block properly before inserting the impeller shaft.

See pages 18,19 and 20 of the manual below for the info on the bearing I am talking about and how to install it.
