Aquatic Life T5

Anyone have any experience with the Aquatic Life T5 lights?

I do. I run one on my BTA tank. It is a quality fixture, well built, and solid. It does have individual reflectors for each bulb. The end reflectors are designed slightly different to avoid spillage and keep the light in the tank.

The moonlights are effective. In Current fixtures I have owned you get a spotlight sort of coverage. These are spaced in pairs across the tank and light up the tank very nicely, provide some fluorescent effect, but are not too bright and everyone goes to bed when the main lights go off.

The controller does the job well. Each set of lights has three settings - on, off, and auto, and can be programmed individually. I have heard concern that if this failed the fixture would be useless. The controller it turns out is connected by a simple ribbon cable and AL confirmed that it would be easy to replace one if need be.

I do not use their stock bulbs, using 2xATI Blue Plus, 1 GE 6500, and an ATI Aquablue Special

The fans are quiet, and blow down across the ballasts which is what I prefer.

The legs are stable and lock into place, and don't slide around.

I have a BTA growing very well under this fixture. I am very pleased with it.

I also have had a chance to check out the hang on MH light from Aquatic Life too., It is very solid and does not have the problems I have seen with the JBJ or Coralife versions.

HTH
