I'm no expert in dealing with Tunze pumps and Apex, but I do know enough to say that you need to tell us what you want to do with the pumps.... variable/random flow, standing wave, or ???

Is there a way to do a wave effect with varible flow I assume a wave effect would create a random flow to a point.

Ok I got my powerheads hooked up a couple questions Do i need to power them off my EB8 right now i have them on a seperate power strip and then hooked to the VS1 Port One power head started auto running constant the other is surging constant,

Update both pumps are surging on off last post apparently one of the cable came off causing it to constantly run. Anyway unless I missed something in the unofficial guide I did not see specifics to set these up

OK new update I went to Kens page and setup a profile based exactly on his to get the pumps running pics are attached. Question is is there a way to have one totally off then while other is on. Way I have it set now they both run constantly. However if I am reading the code right one is at 100% while other is at 30% . It seems I have to much flow most my corals are tightened up and agitated.

I don't think Tunze recommends turning the pumps off fully. I have 6095s and I had to turn them way down using the tunze power supply for each pump--There is a slide that will adjust the power.

There is a slide that will adjust the power.

Where can this be found

Also I read some where that newer tunze you can turn to 0 but not 1-29% it was odd but i read thread that claimed this somewhere here on RC

You have divide by 10 enabled, so your 30% and 100% periods are less than a second in duration. Is that what you want? Also, you have Sync enabled on both PF1 and PF2. When you set Sync on a profile, it causes the profile to get in step with the next lower-numbered profile. There's no PF0 for PF1 to sync to; turn off Sync on PF1, leaving it on PF2.

"is there a way to have one totally off then while other is on" Yes... see the example on page 94 of the Apex manual.

That was based off another users profile. I would like longer durations so I should disable the divide by 10 on all profiles perhaps

Also I will turn off sync on PF1

I plugged these into the EB8 but think i will plug in to a power strip instead any reason to leave on the eb8?

One other thing to consider, the nano series pump control signal is 0 to 8V rather than 0 to 10V of the full size models. It is my understanding that they can handle the full 10V, but as a precaution I limit mine to 80% max intensity.
