Hi, My temp probe is maybe 5 months old and just in the last couple of days, I see it changing rapidly (just hit refresh or update) and it can change a u to a degree it can be 77.2, then 78.6 then down to 77.8 in a minute. I do not have the cap on it, as it has been in a holder. Was stable since new. Should I replace it or is there a reset. Let me know, also does warranty handle this as its around 5 months old.
Next question, my Apex is the basic one ($150 package) and I added a PM1 module and an EB4, can I use the temp port on the PM1 to temp compensate my pH probe and still control the heater temp.

The cap is not supposed to be taken off of the temp probe. There's a warning in the Apex manual about this. Over time, it has probably become damaged as a result.
And yes, once you resolve the temp probe problem (I'd replace it), you can move it to the PM1 and use it in any way desired.
BTW. you can put the temp probe in a holder without removing the cap - with the probe holder out of water, just feed the plug end of the cable through the bottom side of the holder hole and pull the cable and probe back up through.

Hi RussM, yes, I think I damaged it actually last month when I wanted to get the pH probe and took the temp one out of holder. My magnetic holder (Vertex), is very tight for the temp probe and fine for pH probe, I drilled out the temp probe side tonight for proper fit. I have a misc order going in this week and will get a new temp probe. Thanks, for the info, I will leave cap on this time.
