This guy took nearly three hours out of his evening to help a stranger out configuring my apex for internet access. Back story is that I had an apex which was running internet access for about 5 years. Something went wrong and bricked so I got a new one. In between setting up the new one and losing the old I got an upgraded modem from xfinity. The upgraded one was a modem/router which the old one was modem only. I replaced the old modem with the new one and could not figure out how to get internet access to the apex. Problem turned out to be I was running two routers in sequence. So We eliminated the " old" router. The new router used a different addressing system 10.0.whatever compared to the old 192.168.whatever, not sure of the technical term but he definately knows. Revnull helped me discover that dhcp was not activating on my apex. So we changed settings again and discovered that the reboot process was corrupted somehow. Every reboot from the dashboard required a hard reset buy unplugging the apex from the wall. Then we updated all the eb8's to trouble shoot that problem. Now the apex was using dhcp, yeah! Once he got local access on apex from new router it was easy, port to your specific port you chose and set your IP address!
