Is it possible to use a second EB8 if it does not have a sub connection to the contro

Bought an Apex gold pack for my 55 gallon, sweet talked the hubby into a second tank (a bio cube 14!), was hoping to use the second EB8 to control lights only, for now. Like a smart timer bar.
I can only find directions if I was able to use USB cord. But I cannot with current furniture placement, which cannot be changed.
Is there a solution?

If you can't run an Aquabus cable between the tanks, you're only option is to use a second controller.
