So I purchased an Apex Gold on Black Friday. I've finally gotten everything installed and am putting water in the tank. The GF is out of town for Christmas so my plan is to spend the long weekend getting things set up and functioning.

I got the fusion thing set up and communication working. Next I figured out how to make my WAV pumps work.

I plugged in my skimmer, a light and the heater to the DC8 module. I've spent 6 hours reading and playing with settings and can't get a darn thing to turn on. I must be missing something but I have no idea.

I submitted a help ticket but on a holiday weekend I am not hopeful I'll hear anything soon.

Any thoughts?

I think the problem is my EB8 is not showing up on Fusion.

Did you add the outlets to your Fusion home screen by clicking the Unlock button and dragging them down from the bar that appears? I've forgotten to do this myself. :) Do you see them when you click on the Outlets button? And it's connected to the head unit via USB?

+1. The EB8 outlets are likely hidden and need to be added to the dashboard.

Jim,
First off, take a look at the comprehensive reference manual. Don't let the size of it scare you. It has a lot of information including set and programming examples and how too's. Much of it is based on the native interface (not fusion) but it will give you a good overview of the system and setting it up. It also delves into fusion a bit too.

I normally do all my prorgamming from the native interface which you get to by typing in the IP address of your apex from your home network. From there you click on the Configuration tab and then select outlet setup. Find the outlet that your heater is plugged into. They are named EB_3_1, EB_3_2 etc. The name will vary depending on the address of your EB8 and the number of EB8's on your system but the last number in the name is the power outlet number on that EB8. Once you find the correct outlet, you can rename it to Heater or whatever. Then under the "Type" pull down, you can select Heater as a type and add in the temp you want it to turn on and off at. When you are in fusion, you can click on the outlet symbol at the top off the fusion menu bar. It will take you to a list of your outlets. You can click on the one that corresponds to the device you want to program and then select the device type (Heater, Pump, Light etc). Then add the control range.

Lastly is the official Neptune systems forum. It's a great resource with lots of Apex experts who will help as well.

I've read that manual twice. No help at all that I can see. Yes it is the EB_3_1 that dont show. The other thing that sees strange is all I see on that outlet page is a list of items and they are all labeled pump.

+1 on the Neptune forums being helpful. Also a call to their customer service can get the ball rolling, too.

Yep called customer service and opened a request. I am not hopeful they will get to me today which means I waste the whole long weekend not getting anything done. I'll try the forum.

Sometimes you have to scroll the bar to see the outlets.

Have you tried using the display?

+1 on using the native screen, you may have to update the eb8 and/or anything else you have attached.

Guys I'm not that computer savy. I have no idea how to find the IP address. I called a buddy who is an IT guy he couldn't find it either.

I did try the display is doesn't show the EB either.

I'm not close to my tank atm but if I remember correctly, in the display, under setup, net setup should list the IP address it is on

OK that helped now it wants a damn user name and password. I am trying the one for the fusion but it doesn't want that. So far I am unimpressed with this thing.

Try: Admin for the user name and "1,2,3,4" for the pass word might try "0,0,0,0".

I'm just guessing.

Thanks Admin and 1234 did it. Now I am on that other interface but the eb8 not shown there either. I'll poke around a while and see what I can find.

I also posted on their forum.
