Problems with 44 gallon pentagon
besides its 30 inch depth. I'm trying to decide if I should switch everything in my 55. I think a 400watt mh pendent would do great on the tank, but not the 55. I also have very little sandbed in that narrow *** tank. I know I should go up in size not down. But most standard sized tanks have the same single halide lighting problems as the 55.

i currently have a 44 pent, the corner tank, not sure if you are tanking about that. besides lighting, i have run into the problem of quascaping it, very difficult to fit the rocks just right to make 2 walls down the sides. Viewing has been my main frustration. there are 2 corners splitting up your viewing area which kinda sucks. if you have the choice and you wan to stay in that gallon range, i would go with a 40 breeder.
