furan 2 pox dip: tank water?

I'm currently treating two zoanthid colonies for pox with Furan 2 but instead of using r.o. water I'm dipping them in tank water to reduce the stress and prolong the dip time.

Has anyone tried dipping pox infected zoanthids in Furan 2 mixed in a cup of tank water? If the medication is actually eradicating the pox, what role does r.o. water play? I figure that by using tankwater kept at a stable temperature, the infected colony can be kept in the furan 2 solution for much longer; I'm dipping mine for an hour.

Ive use water from my tank with mixed experiece.. but I think it really depends on how far bad are the zoa's prior to treatment.

I always always always dip in RO water, brought to same temp and pH as the tank. The reason is a saltwater bacteria or pest will no do well in freshwater.

That's what I figured. After a series of hour long dips in tankwater, I've done two freshwater furan dips. Thanks.
