Non-White PVC?
Such such a thing exist? I want to do a closed loop without drilling my tank, but would prefer to have a less noticible pipe running through the tank. Anyone heard of or seen anything?
Thanks!

I just spray painted my white PVC with krylon fusion. Works perfectly. I also coated the PVC with purple pvc primer before painting so the white does show through if the paint chips off.

I'd probably paint, but I have bought the gray stuff as well.

Krylon Fusion does work great if you cant find stuff your looking for. All my closed loop piping even the submerged parts are painted with Fusion.

Mine had gray, it wasn't that noticeable. What bothers me is that 1/2" is too darn big to really 'plumb" a tank. I wish 7/16" PVC pipe and the fittings associated with were more widely available here in the US.

I've sprayed white pvc black with Krylon fusion and ordered black pvc pipe and fittings from Savko. With the black pvc you won't get white showing through if you scratch it or chip it.

Keep in mind if your clear PVC is exposed to any light at all you're going to get a lot of algae growth. I don't think it has any real use in this hobby.

Available in Grey for both Sch. 40 and 80. As for ABS, it's a waste of time and money. You'll spend hours searching for the fittings you want, and you'll end up paying significantly more. |
