Interesting! Was this done on purpose, or was it a life-got-in-the-way-of-maintenance thing?

I really like that, I keep thinking of doing a GSP and Xenia only tank, thats exactly what i'd like for it.

doesn't look bad! However, it looks like the only real estate left is the sandbed..

That is actually quite sweet! I bet it is very trippy when you just stare at the tank for long periods of time.

You ought to try and get some video of that, I bet it looks pretty cool with them all swaying in the current.

I agree with getting a video up! We had a 180 gallon tank in my bio building that was probably 50% covered in Xenia and it looked awesome swaying with the current of the tank! Sweet looking tank though, I like a lot!

This is over a 10 month span. I decided in the beginning to frag and sell xenia on the side as it was a very fast growing coral...so I let it start to dominate and go where it wanted. I stopped pruning and fragging after few months (it just became a pain in the *** to sell to flakey people and my LFS). I always liked the look of pulsing xenia so I made the decision to let it go where it wanted. The gsp held it's own and it makes a nice accent so it came along for the ride.

I'll put up a video in a bit. It looks very hypnotic.

The tank is a 20 long. 150w mh.

I never thought a tank with only a few types of coral could look so nice.

I think it's gorgeous. I had pulsating xenia grow into my GSP in an old tank, and thought the combination of textures and colors to be quite nice.

That looks great! I've actually been looking forward to doing something like this on a sumpless, skimmerless system with LEDs. I have a spare 20gallon long sitting around, and I may have to downsize about a year from now when I move again.

This is why no evasive corals are allowed in my tanks... no matter how cool they look.
