Has anything changed recently? What are your parameters? How long have you had the Alveopora for? How do your other corals look?

I went on vacation for 6 days and used really crappy lights so my water wouldn't evaporate so maybe that had something to do with it. My other coral are fine, granted I have really low maintenance coral in zoas and GSPs. I am hoping with my lights being back to full stretch maybe it will make a comeback.

alveopora is easier compare to gonipora, but still not an easy coral, each one of them you need to find the right combo for light and food. if its tentacles don't get shorter over time. you are in an ok area if they are getting longer over time you are in the good zone.

If you can feed them, they will do better. Doen't need tiny food. Fish food is fine. Squirt some foot toward it and you will see that it will capture and eat food, flakes, mysis, what ever. I had pictorial documentation of this a long time ago. RC upgrade kinda messed it up and lost it.

Good advice. I didn't know about the tenticle length thing.

I direct feed zooplankton twice a week. Is that sufficient or is there a better way to feed?

they eat food the size of small mysis. What size are your zooplankton?
I would gently squirt the mysis or plankton to the coral so that the heads can capture them.

They are pretty much invisible. Every time I squirt into the coral, the coral polyps retract into the coral. Does that every time, but I assume the plankton still sticks to the heads

Too small then. Just a few mysis or flakes every day when you feed the fish would be fine
