Mantis hide alot?

I would like to set up a small tank for a mantis, but was wondering if they hide alot? I had one in my 10g nano before, and never saw it(till I got it out).

Also, anyone got pics they could post of their mantis? Looking for some ideas on different colorations.

Thanks
stapler

They're definitely reclusive and hide most of the time. But if you are nice to your mantis and train it well, it will be accustomed to your presence.

• I tap the glass 3 times before each meal. Now she comes out and sits atop the rock when its feeding time.
• Trained to eat variety: flakes, frozen shrimp, live crustaceans and snails
• Does'nt flee when I hover over the tank

Good enough for me!
