Did you see how your tank was featured at the MACNA talk on aquascaping by Dr. Whitby? Pretty cool stuff.

The guys in my club are trying the bonsai rock work too so stay tune for more tank using this style
![]() I think the main reason why the bonsai style look so good is because bonsais are graceful and balanced.

also, you can have intense lighting for light demanding SPS corals, yet still have plenty of shaded areas for low light zoas, etc not to mention more "swim area" for the fishies ![]() find it much more conducive to an actual reef that has caves & overhangs etc versus the old "pile of rock" approach

Your tank is absolutely amazing, love that the rock work only touches the sand in a few spots... amazing

Thanks you Guys!!! I had no clue that my Aquascape would be such a hit and a inspiration to many folks around the world. I am humbly faltered!! I am proud that my tank has been featured in a presentation for MACNA, and also glad that my aquascape has inspired all of you! Please understand that my tank still looks the same a the last couple months and i want to post pics when the tank is a little bit more grown out. Ill get photos up after the holidays, i can reassure you all that the tank is doing well and still thriving. Once again thanks for all the comments and exposure i really appreciate it!

Beautiful Tank.
Sometime I will be setting up a 40B and you have inspired me as well to attempt a bonsai style reef. Great tank and glad to hear its doing well. |

Hey crazy4acros,
I just wanted to thank you for starting your thread and sharing your aquascaping with us. I always considered myself fairly attentive to detail when it came to my aquascaping and when you first started this thread I thought I was pretty satisfied with my aquascape at that time. I was re-reading this thread a few weeks back and I guess I had too much time on my hands so I ended up re-doing my aquascape about two weeks ago. Unfortunately I broke a few frags and caused a minor bleaching incident but here's what I ended up with: ![]()
