Why does my maxipure RO/DI psi meter read zero?

I just got a Spectrapure maxpure MPDI RO/DI 90 GPD system and i hooked it up and got water running through it but the psi meter is not reading anything.could it be the flow restrictor?do i need to cut it and how would cutting it help build up pressure?

could be a bad guage, give it alittle tap, and/or remove to make sure there's no teflon tape over the hole....
