Help with ATI powermodule
I just bought a ATI powermodule 10 x 80.
Light works awesome on a seven foot tank. Two questions: 1) With the fans set to maximum(12 volts), the discharge air is running just over 50 degrees C. I thought HO T5's were run best at 35 degrees C. Are they running too hot? 2) The acrylic shield sags way down. There is a gap on both ends. I am using a couple small quick grip clamps to just support the lens for now. Is there a fix out there to make this all better? Considering the cost of this fixture, I am very disappointed with the fit and finish. I had to remove the end plate to get the lens out. I had to modify the end plate so the lens could fit between the tabs. To make things worse, the builder of this fixture jammed the end plate over the lens bending the end plate. Another point...when I finally got the lens removed for bulb fitment, I found lots of bits of aluminum and pieces of wire insulation. Messy, very messy. I would kinda expect this from a cheap chinese knock off. Anyone else got horror stories like this? |

i think the air discharge being so warm is because it has traveled the full length of the fixture
and removed quite a bit of heat. That is a heck of a fixture so I am not surprised just how hot the vented air is. My sunpower discharge is warm so naturally it is above 100 F. If it was not warmer then my body temp it would be cool ;-) Do you have it under a hood by any chance? As for the sagging.. do you mean the clear cover does not fit on the wide edge very well? Mine is pretty snug. It also runs to the very end where it catches under a lip to support it. The venting side is not support. Mine is only 36 inches so perhaps your situation is much different then mine. where did you buy it and did you contact them? |

The fixture is hanging in open 70 degree F air with zero obstructions.
Neither end of the fixture has a lip to support the clear cover/lens/shield. My retailer is aware of the issue but is unaware of any fixes. Maybe an employee of ATI could comment here? |
