Actually, I never said to have it against the nut.

I believe the gasket should always be on the wet side... over tightening is not good and is necessary when on the dry side.

Know quite a few people that have had leaks due to salt creep from over tightening a gasket on the dry side... I've never had creep when tightened properly on the wet side.

I've found that salt creep helps seal it up!

Why not just take the bulkhead out and put a uniseal?

It just needed to be hand tightened a little bit more. No more drip.
I'd be afraid to use a uniseal when there is weight on it.

Great thread,

I read a lot of it and it really helped me with my recent 300 build I posted on here... Your original "fish room" gave me a lot of ideas and upgrades for the future!
Thanks,
JIM

Dennis, I am exhausted...I finally finished reading the entire thread. That was amazing. I'll reply properly, after I have gotten some sleep.

The last set of pics of the mangrove tank are the EM1.
The set before that of the coral are my D800.

oh! haha, nah.
They look super nice but I was trying to avoid blocking my side view this time.
If I want to run MP's, my old 40's and 60's are fine.

Hi Dennis

Are you still using AquaticLog? What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks!

PS, Is there any major website that doesn't have a picture of one of your tanks on it?...

I am using it (worm5406) and I like it, I forget to update it sometimes with pictures. I need to start using it more often when I am doing water tests. That way it is right there. I have the app on my phone to be able to add quickly.

I still use it, although i've been bad at updating it recently.
I think it's great. I wouldn't even know what to do with an excel doc or whatever. AL is so easy and I like being able to access it from anywhere and input parameters using my phone right in the fish room.

Also like that I can keep track of when i installed bulbs, changed carbon, etc and even get reminder emails to do that stuff.

Here's an FTS.
I finally got the last of the bigger colonies cut down and attached to the rock.
Still have some coloring up to do on some of the SPS, still getting used to the new tank.

And this shows my current bulb combo with the three stages, written at the bottom of each pic.
