Nothing much. It was my first and probably the last unless more vendors show. Justin (Viper930) had the best price and nicest selection of corals. How can you past on nice sizes frags of the Fire and Ice Echinata for $90? AWExotics was way overprice and even try to pass off some "mummy eye". Yourreef had some nice stuff that was fairly price. I heard the one in LA has much more vendors. I will be giving that a try next year.

At the SW-cfm, AWE had their ORA frags priced at $120-140!!

He did have a coral that resembled the ME but he called it 'desert' something rather. He wanted like $50 for a big frag.

Guess I didnt miss much... Anyone else??

He might have gotten a piece of the ME, but the piece he was passing off as the ME was not the ME. If it was the ME, he would have sold it immediately for his asking price of $110-100.

tacocat is one of the guys that runs exoticfrags.us so it indeed was the actual mummy eye piece.

No one is doubting that tacocat has a piece of the ME and sold/trade it off to AWExotics. The piece in question was what he was selling as the ME. Trust me, I am not the only person that question that piece. Selling ORA frags for $90-$110, then selling ME frags for $110-100 seems to not make any sense to me. Yourreef was selling the same ORA frags for $45, which is more then fair. Don't feel bad if you are your friends bought it.

Problem is that Todd just didn't know a whole lot about the overall price of the mummy eye. He didn't even know that the chalice in the front was the rasta watermelon until Hector told him it was. That piece went for just 60 or 65.

Yes it did and I know who the lucky benefactor was of it.

I think the difference in the pricing had more to do with what he had grown out vs. what he paid for.

Pssh I guess you didn't stick around for his two for one, then his "let's make a deal" yet you still bash his prices? He called it the "Desert Fox" btw, not the Mummy Eye. Todd isn'
t about the names like you, but he's been in the game for a very long time

Your lame comparison doesn't make any sense. I don't know Todd personally and he might be a great knowledgable guy, but that doesn't matter. Your comparison of his "two for one" deals is foolish. His pricing at the beginning of the show and up till 1pm was high. Everybody knows why vendors blow out the price at the end of the day and that is perfectly fine. You are also mistaken about him calling it the mummy eye the desert fox. He had both and they were seperate corals. So what if I am about the name game, you don't know me and I surely don't know you. Sorry, I don't spend my days counting pods.

I got some great, just basic frags from Steve Tyree -a digi, and, gosh I forgot the name of the vendor in the corner (to the right when you walked in). I got a monti from him. This event was cool for a rookie like me.

That was Underwater Paradise on the right side.

Thanks to everybody that showed up yesterday. It was my first event as a vendor and it was a lot of fun.

I had a great time, and picked up 9 pieces total, nothing rare or exotic though. I found since nice chalice, favia & acans, all for very good prices, better than if I were to buy at a LFS or online. This has been my 2nd one and I plan to be a regular attendee each year- it's a great way to buy a wide variety of corals locally and talk to lots of people.

I think what Gresham mean is you do not need to bash a certain vendor in public forum. If you do not like the price then you do not have to purchase. It is true that at the end Todd offered 2 for 1 deal and even he also did "let's make a deal" type. I was there when that happened. I saw that the deal was really really great deal for his own pieces including ORA piece that he has grown himself. I also saw he rejected a deal because he will not go lower than his cost.
In my opinion, you seems to know when the deal are happening, but you did not take that route for your own reason, so it does not mean that you have the right of bashing a certain vendor due to your in ability to stay until 4:00 PM.
I also think that you do not need to go further to personal attack with someone occupation.
Just my 2 cents.

Personal attacks? He aim his post at me. My original post was what I observe at the BACFM. I said it like how I saw it. Yeah, I didn't stay until 4. What does that have to do with anything? I never doubted that they lower their prices. The person that I went with picked up a Bazooka Joe, a setosa, the season greeting (2 piece), and tyree aspera. The best deal was the aspera. Everything else was price fairly and super healthy. He got what he wanted and we left. I came looking for the lime in the sky. The piece I saw, I wasn't to happy with so I pass, even though the price was lower then I expected.
