i dont know about what they are selling, but it's really light weight nice looking stuff, you would get much more surface area per pound with it than say fiji which is much more dense, but also nice

I am getting ready to use it right now on my tank. It looks great IMO..... I spent a while rinsing the residue out in RO water, and found all sorts of organics in it (mainly dried sponges) that could cause a cycle in currently set up tank. I even found a few dried up crab legs in the rinse water.

I have heard they have been out of it for a while......

i have had 20-30 lbs or so in my system for nearly two years, got it at a LFS, they rarely have it, they are in Augusta, GA (technically Evans, GA i think) on Washington Rd....called Star Aquatics, very nice place, extremely well managed and kept, probably about the nicest LFS i have ever been in and i have been in many

I got it from Bulk Reef Supply (Two Part Solution) last summer in preparation for the current build. I placed 2 orders over 1 month time. I also got some shelf pieces....some of which were nice rock pieces, where others were flat pieces of coral skeletons.

A little weight does go a long way because it is very porous and dry.

I have also heard good things about marcorock, but there have been many paid in full customers waiting for a while as well. Not sure if it has to do with customs/shipping overseas.

Thanks. Im in Charkeston. I will check them out in a couple of weeks when I go to ATlanta. I hope they have some to look at. Do you have any pictures of your. I would really like to see some in a established tank before I buy some. Thanks.

I have to upload some pics....not established, just freshly rinsed, or dry and stacked in pillars. I can try to get some up soon (tomorrow night, or Monday). Try a search on RC and see what comes up.....I have seen some pics, but can not remember which tanks/threads they were. The established tanks I've seen all looked pretty nice, but, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

i know it's not a good picture, and i just moved this entire system to this tank so much of the corraline covered parts arent exposed, but the piece just to the left of the angel is pukani

you can see it better in this pic but from further out, the large piece directly under the clown

i have so many different types, pukani, fiji, tonga branch, and some home-made pieces which are the white looking large pieces towards to top as well as the large flat shelf pieces.....so it's kind of hard to single it out in my tank

basically they are not solid, huge masses of tubular "branches" all formed together typically the size of a finger in thickness....lots of shape and "tunnels", not solid masses like the fiji usually is

Yeah, bulk reef has some very nice looking dry rocks. It's a shame they are out of stock.

Here's some pics.....
My "no pun intended" dry run of pillars....unfortunately before rinsing, so who knows if I'll ever get it to look like that again, but I may change it completely....

Another angle to show depth....

For size comparison and to see how porous it is...

Rinsing bins....left is pre-rinse and where I threw all the stuff I picked off....right was the last rinse before I laid it out to dry...

Pics of crab legs and an urchin spine that I saw floating in the water throughout rinsing...

the time span between the two is about 1.5 years...im currently thinking of tearing it down and re-scaping..i feel im wasting all the height in my tank!

as far as the rock goes..i love it..lots of little holes to stick frags!

I somewhat agree with you on your reason for wanting to re-aquascape, but what about when those frags become colonies?? You might have the middle-top of the tank filled in quite nicely!
