Question Scopas tang lateral line with yellow tang

Hi, I am posting a general question about a scopas tang I am wanting to rescue from my LFS. The scopas has lateral line disease and is pretty beat up but seems to be doing fine, He is about 5 inches min. I am in the process of setting up a 90 gallon mixed reef and i want to add him in and I was wondering if the scopas will fight with a smaller yellow tang 2-3in. I have had the tang for a while now in another tank and its time to move him to my 90. The questions I mainly have are will the Scopas survive or will he just die in a couple of months? Also, Will the scopas pick on the yellow or viceversa? and who should I add first? The scopas has some beat up fins from constant picking on by other fish.

Any suggestion and answers is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Evan

If you can get some proper nutrition into that fish with lateral line disease he can make a full recovery.

As to whether it will disagree with your yellow tang.....probably, but there is no telling for sure if the disagreement would be serious or not.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone else have an opinion on this or had experience with these tangs together?

If you are putting them in at the same time I doubt you will have much aggression. Be prepared to take one out if it gets bad.

with mixing purples and yellows its a guessing game.. it is extreemly dependant on each individal fish, i have seen it go from absolutly no problems to complete and total terror.. and anywhere inbetween..
