Fixing ATI PM
Hi all, My ATI PM 6x39w is broken and down to 4x39w.
Water splashed into end of fixture, causing a bulb connector to blow/melt. 2x bulbs not working. Replaced damaged bulb connectors - still not working. Replaced ballast, with comparable ballast, except dimmable. Still not working. Power reaching ballast. Next step is to start testing each circuit connection to see where power isn't reaching. There doesn't seem to be any obvious fuses (?). This is the ballast i replaced with: http://www.guppysaquariumproducts.co.../prod_774.html Any suggestions appreciated, Cheerz. |

Does the dimmable ballast you put in there require some type of input? Since it's dimmable how does it know what to fire at?

I agree with Mike.
I don't really know the specifics of a dimmable ballast but I am pretty sure you need something to control it with. You can't just add dimmable ballasts into a fixture without a controller to tell the ballast what to do.
