I have a 29H gallon tru vu tsnk. I need to get my metal halides 10-12 inches off the top of the water and I am going to build a canopy. The tank is acrylic. Would there be any problems with the acrylic and wood. Also, any ideas for how to build it?

You could hang a pendant from the ceiling. Are you running more than one? (you typed halides).
