Setting up E-mail alert issues.

I am trying to set up e-mail alerts, and was running into issues, so I did the trouble shoot through telnet. After I entered in the promps the user guide said. the Controller Responded with SMTP: server = 9e1a5744
Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks

It's meaningless. What matters is what comes after that.

I love this controller, setting up the e-mail is the only part that is giving me grief
