Acro Frag Mounting Distance?
I know Acroporas can be mounted very close together, but is there an "ideal" distance, so when they are fully grown they look nice? I see a lot of tanks with tons of frags mounted all over the rocks and it looks like it will look really crowded by the time they all grow.
I was just wondering if there was a rule of thumb as to the distance I should mount my frags. |

This really comes down to how selective and patient you want to be. If you really plan on having a successful SPS tank and anticipate real growth, they would need to be at least 10-12 inches apart. But It can also depend on the particular way a coral grows. I would say a good estimated distance to begin with is 5-6 inches apart and then depending on how they begin to branch out you move them accordingly.

It also depends on how big your tank is, my little 58g has SPS a few inches apart but I would suggest 4-5 for most tanks.
