My parameters are at the correct condition
I target feed quite often so I don't know why this torch coral is losing color. It used to be extended and healthy looking until recently. So what do you think is causing this ? ![]() image.jpg |

What exactly are your water parameters? Please include the following list
temp sg mg alk ca nitrate phosphate ammonia nitrite Are you dosing anything What salt mix do you use How long has your tank been setup? How long have you had this torch? Do you have any other Euphyllia in your tank and if so how are they doing? A picture of your tank would help also. Do you own any leather corals? If so do you run carbon? Lots of questions yes, but are needed to get a full understanding of your tank.

In addition to the above questions, where is the torch positioned in your tank? What lights are you using and for how long each day?

So my question is along the line as the original poster... I got a torch yesterday.. It arrive dark purple. Once it made it way to my tank it open up immediately and has seemed to be a light pinkish color. Normal to change colors?

Ok,
Thanks! Haven't lost a coral yet (fingers crossed) and it seems happy where it is at. |

It also depends on your lighting as different lighting can make corals look to be different colors.

Here's a better photo, it's been looking like this for a couple weeks now My water parameters are all good. I moved it lower in the light thinking it was "bleaching" also been dosing Reef energy to try to gain color and still no hope |

I had my hammer coral bleach out on me. Moved it too an area of indirect lighting. Left it there for quite some time with zero improvement, but no worsening. Moved it back to an area with more light and it regained it's color back and has doubled in size. Sometimes things happen and we don't have a clue why.

It would still serve you best to answer all of the questions by Dkuhlmann and Zeesparrow to get a full understanding. I know that you said your parameters are "good" but specificity would be useful.
Good Luck Mike |

Mike, sometimes I think people don't answer this because either they have test strips or do not have the kits and have their LFS do the test for them. Unfortunately it is not of much help as you already know. Without the actual numbers from the tests there is no way to give proper diagnosis.
