LED Supplement help
Unfortunately I am having to down size my tank, 180g to 90g, however it is giving me a great opportunity to upgrade my system! I am a total DIY guy and besides the tank, completely built my 180g set up. I plan on doing the same with my new 90g rimless, but my current question is to build or buy....
My new tank is a glasscages rimless and I am planning on hanging 2 of my luminarc 250W DE MH pendants. I had the lighting in a hood and was supplementing with T5 actinics. However not that I am going to hang the pendants, I was thinking that using LEDs attached to the pendants would be the cleanest look. I may build a complete LED system over the next year, but for now just want to supplement the MH's. What do people think? Buy a Reef Brite stip and attach it to the pendant, or build an LED strip. There are so many threads on DIY LEDs, I am a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to start. In addition, not sure the time to build it is worth the cost of buying to put together. Ideas? Help! |
